Vasco Pires Amoedo, age 92 of Raynham, passed away on May 16, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Dulce Pedrosa Amoedo.
Vasco was born in Lisbon, Portugal, son of the late Raul Luis Ferreira Amoedo and Ilda Vieira Pires Amoedo. He was the brother of the late Rui Amoedo and Victor Amoedo.
He received his advanced education from the Technical University of Lisbon prior serving in the Portuguese Army receiving honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant.
Before retirement in 1987, he was employed with Stone & Webster as a mechanical engineer. He enjoyed painting, playing musical instruments especially the piano, and would always be found doing projects involving electrical work.
Besides his loving wife of over 63 years, Vasco is survived by his son Roy Amoedo and his wife Donna of Raynham, grandchildren; Eric Amoedo and wife Annemarie, Kyle Amoedo and girlfriend Alyssa DeBenedictis, and Kayla Amoedo and fiancé Christopher Bruni, great grandchildren; Isaac and Grace Amoedo.
Mr. Amoedo’s funeral with visitation will be held on Friday May 25, 2018 at 9 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a funeral home service to begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
