Violet (Barros) Duarte, age 92 of Taunton, passed away on October 1, 2016 at Longmeadow of Taunton.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles S. Duarte.
Mrs. Duarte was born in Taunton a daughter of the late John and Amelia
(Fagundes) Barros.
Before retirement, Violet was employed with Reed & Barton as a silver inspector for several years. She was an avid bingo player, loved knitting and sewing but most of all she was a loving and caring person who was devoted to her family.
Violet was the loving mother of Susan Knute and husband Lawrence and Kathleen Duarte , sister of Diane Magazu , and grandmother of Kenneth Knute all of Taunton. Violet was also the mother of the late Anthony Duarte and sister of the late Florence Lanziotti, Clarence, John and Albert Barros.
Her funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 8:30 am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Annunciation of the Lord Church, Taunton. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
