Virginia (Barboza) Mello, age 87 of Assonet, passed away on December 25, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Mello.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lavina (Cazimiro) Barboza.
Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and going to Plymouth or the Cape to get seafood. She was a hairdresser and caregiver for over 40 years.
She is survived by her daughters; Anita Baddeley, Cynthia Sousa and husband Robert and Deborah Lima, sister; Geraldine Frias, granddaughters; Jennifer Landim and Stephanie Sousa, great-grandchildren; Isaiah Sousa, Evalina Baptista, Valentina and Liliana Landim.
Visitation will be held privately.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 10 am in Saint Bernard Church, 30 South Main Street, Assonet.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
