Vivian J. (Simons) Carlos, age 92, of Berkley, MA, passed away on March 18, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Augustus F. Carlos, Jr.
Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts she was the daughter of the late Samuel F. Simons and Rose ( Aguiar) Simons.
Vivian lived a full and joyful life, filled with laughter, creativity, and a deep love for those around her. She found great happiness in simple pleasures—bowling at Ryan’s Family Amusement, taking long bike rides in Newport, Rhode Island, and spending time doing the things she loved most.
A talented and spirited woman, Vivian had a remarkable ability to play almost any instrument, with a special fondness for the organ and harmonica. She also enjoyed drawing, playing Scrabble, and visiting Foxwoods. In quieter moments, she could often be found watching game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune, one of her favorites.
Vivian was known for her wonderful sense of humor. She loved telling jokes and had a way of making everyone around her smile. Her warmth, laughter, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed.
Above all, Vivian was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. Her love and dedication to her family were the foundation of her life, and her legacy will live on through them.
She will be remembered with love and cherished always.
She is survived by her loving children; Kim E. Curth and husband John, Craig S. Carlos and wife Rene, Glen Carlos and wife Ann, grandchildren; Brittany Petit and husband Chris, Hannah Carlos, Craigie Carlos, Kaylin Carlos, great-grandchildren; Ameyia, Arlo, Adelyn, brother; Ronald Simons and wife Marie and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gordon Simons, Noreen McCarron and Elaine Langfield.
