Wayne F. Dumenigo, age 78 of Dighton, passed away on October 26, 2025 at Morton Hospital.

He was the longtime companion of Holly A. Hathaway.

Born in Middletown, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Ferreira) Dumenigo.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, partner, and friend whose generosity, warmth, and kindness will be remembered forever.

A proud veteran, Wayne honorably served in the United States Air Force as a maintenance specialist who inspected T-38 aircraft. After completing his service, he went on to work in the family real estate business, Dumenigo Enterprise, and would later build a long and successful career with the U.S. Postal Service in Fall River before enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

An alumnus of Rhode Island College, Wayne was a lifelong learner with a deep appreciation for history. He was particularly fascinated by the U.S. presidents, the Civil War, and the American Revolution. A passionate reader, he maintained a large and varied collection of historical books. A supporter of the Dighton Historical Society, he found joy in sharing his knowledge and love of American history with others.

He loved life’s simple pleasures—spending time by the water and the beach, taking day trips, exploring new places, and discovering hidden gems. He enjoyed good food, especially seafood and buffalo chicken wings, and had a keen interest in investing and real estate.

A talented musician, Wayne played both the piano and organ, and his love for music extended to attending live concerts and enjoying all kinds of performances.

A loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Las Vegas Raiders, the Boston College Eagles and F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, Wayne never missed an opportunity to cheer for his teams. He was also deeply interested in current events, travel, and sports of all kinds.

Above all, Wayne was a devoted family man—the best father a son could have and a proud grandfather of three, who brought him endless happiness. For the past 24 years, he shared his life with his loving girlfriend and partner, Holly, whose steadfast support and companionship meant everything to him.

Besides his companion Holly of 24 years, he is survived by his son Matthew Dumenigo, grandchildren; Andrew Dumenigo, Sara Dumenigo, Samuel Dumenigo, his brother Steven Dumenigo and his wife Felda, and nephews David and Daniel Dumenigo. He was the brother of the late Irene Avila.

Wayne’s funeral with visitation will be held on Saturday, NOVEMBER 8, 2025 from 8 am to 10 am with a Funeral Home Service to begin at 10 am in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.

Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Dighton Veteran Cemetery.
