William J. Alves, age 68, passed away on June 30, 2017 at Golden Living Center- Wedgemere in Taunton, surrounded by his loving family, after months of battling cancer.
William was born in Taunton, a son of the late Anthony A. and Elsie E. (Lopes) Alves. He was educated in the Taunton School System.
He enjoyed fishing in Cape Cod, going for long car rides, and loved the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. He was a kind, good hearted man and well loved by so many people.
Mr. Alves leaves his sisters; Joanna Cordova of Taunton, Christine Alves of Taunton and Maryann Alves of Taunton, brothers; Wayne Alves of Lakewood, Colorado, James Alves of Fort Walton, Florida, and Roland Alves of Colorado. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 4 to 6 pm, with a funeral service to begin at 6 pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) in Taunton.
Burial will be private
