J. Winifred (Pacheco) LaMountain, age 99 of East Taunton, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence in Shrewsbury on January 29, 2025.
Born in East Taunton in 1925, she is the daughter of the late Jordan and Mary (Mello) Pacheco.
For grades 1-12 she went to Brookside School in East Taunton, and went on to attend Atlantic Union College, where she met her beloved husband, the late Howard E. LaMountain, who passed away in 2019. They were married for 72 years.
After moving for different job opportunities, Howard and Winnie decided to move to East Taunton, where they raised their family of two daughters, Joy and Jean.
Winnie was employed at Ad-A-Day for over 30 years until she retired in 1988.
She enjoyed singing in the Church choir, gardening, going to the beach, picnics, knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking and hosting potlucks, and sitting around their fire-pit with family and friends.
She was a faithful longtime member of the Taunton Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Winnie is survived by her daughters, Joy Buck with Joseph Frustaci, and Jean Mayberry with husband Tracey Mayberry
Grandmother of Pamela (Buck) Renzetti, and Lauren Mayberry McKelvey.
Great-grandmother of Alexandra Renzetti and Graeme McKelvey.
Her funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 11am with a funeral service to begin at 12 Noon in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.
Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, East Taunton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to the Taunton Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Winnie’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
