Georgia E. Hamlin, age 72 of Taunton, passed away on July 28, 2021 at Morton Hospital with her beloved family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of Wallace Skilling.
Georgia was born in Milo, ME the daughter of the late George and Frances (Harris) Hamlin.
Before retiring, Mrs. Hamlin was employed with the Fall River public school dept as a teacher of blind and visually impaired.
Georgia was a graduate of Milo High School, the University of ME and earned her Master’s with Boston College. She also attended the teacher training program of the Perkins School for the blind. Mrs. Hamlin was also a member of the former Morton Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed photography, cats and was a pianist.
Georgia had a deep faith in God, she was a member of Winthrop Street Baptist Church and felt blessed by God to provide music ministry at two churches.
Mrs. Hamlin was a devoted wife, sister and friend and cherished time spent with them.
Besides her beloved husband Wallace of over 24 years, she is survived by her brother, Neil Hamlin and his wife Barbara of Milo, ME and her brother in law David Skilling and his wife Abby as well as her sister in law Dr. Heather Skilling.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 10am to 12 Noon in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton with a memorial service to be held at 2pm in the Winthrop Street Baptist Church 39 Winthrop Street in Taunton. Her burial will be held privately in the Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, ME.
