Manuel F. Pereira “Buzzy” 87, of East Taunton, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Morton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Jean S. Pereira.
Born in Taunton, MA, he was the son of the late Joao and Isabel (Pereira) Pereira.
He worked in Mechanical Maintenance at the TMLP for over 30 years before retiring as a supervisor in 1999. Prior to that he worked at Automatic Machinery in Attleboro as a toolmaker.
An avid fan of the New York Yankees, his life revolved around his family. He loved to go to bingo, the casinos, taking rides to Cape Cod, traveling, and collecting beanie babies with his late wife. He always went to all of his grandchildren's events and never missed any. Buzzy enjoyed spending time with his dear friend Pi and socializing with the gentlemen at Home-Plate in East Taunton.
Mr. Pereira is survived by his children, Francis “Weggie” Pereira, and his wife, Sissy (Barret) Pereira, of Middleboro, Brenda Rae, of Raynham, and Maddy (Pereira) St. Germain, and her husband, Phil, of Taunton; six grandchildren, Jason Rae, Jenna Rae, Heidi St. Germain, Derek St. Germain, Russ Dion, and his wife Cheryl and April Costello; and ten great grandchildren, Brayden Ronca, Lyla Rae, Catte, Devon, Chloe, and Dagan Costello, Maniah and Mikey St. Germain, and Brady and Aubrey Dion. He was the brother of the late John, Tony, and Adam Pereira, and Piedade “Peggie” Nadeau.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all funeral services and interment in Saint Joseph Cemetery will be privately held.
