Marion E. (Dias) Rose, 90, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2020 in North Carolina. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Rose, to whom she was wed for 49 years.
Born in Rehoboth, she was a daughter of the late John and Louis (Pike) Dias. She later moved to Dighton and graduated from Dighton High School. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Mrs. Rose had also been employed for many years at Shields/Dante in Attleboro as a press operator. A resident of Dighton for 60 years, Marion was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Church.
Family was very important to her. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed going to family reunions. She had a heart of gold and clearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marion loved to work in her garden, cook, and bake. She especially enjoyed cake decorating and made many specialty cakes for family and friends.
Survivors include her son David W. Rose and his wife Elaine of North Carolina; grandchildren, Brian Rose of Rhode Island, Michael W. Rose of North Carolina, Joseph T. Rose and Allan A. Rose, both of Ohio and Scott Rose of Rehoboth; seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Christopher, Joseph, Thomas, Montana, Cooper, and Xander Rose; two sisters, Carol Miller of Georgia and Kathy Varney of Mansfield; two brothers, Earle Dias of Rehoboth and William Dias of Florida. She was also mother of the late Joseph R. Rose and sister of the late Beverly Jane Gray, Nancy Windell, Agnes DelSignore, John, Clifford, and Howard Dias.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, June 18th, 2021 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, where her Memorial Service will commence at 12:00pm. Committal Service to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
