Suzanne M. Areias, age 58, of East Taunton and formerly of West Falmouth, passed away peacefully March 2, 2020 at Brigham & Woman’s Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Suzanne was born July 10, 1961 in Taunton and was the daughter of the late Ivo and Mary (Alves) Areias.
Suzanne was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was employed with JML Care Center in Falmouth, MA for many years. Her most recent position was that of the MDS Coordinator for the facility.
Sue was an avid reader, and also enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafting. A life-long Bruins fan, Sue made a point of watching every hockey game she could. Sue was also an avid animal lover and cherished the time spent with family.
Suzanne is survived by her loving sister, Sharon A. Trahan and her companion Ken O’Neil of North Attleboro as well as her cousins Brenda Vasconcellos of Swansea, Allyson Pires of East Taunton, and Sarah Dinizof Warren, RI with whom she had a close relationship with during her lifetime. Sue also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her feline companion Stella.
Suzanne’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 8:30 am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Ave, East Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held in the Silva Funeral Home on Monday, March 9th from 4 to 7pm.
(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.)
