Albert D. Laranjo

Albert “Al” D Laranjo, 87, of East Taunton, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Morton Hospital. 

He was the beloved husband of Lucille (Viveiros) of sixty-three years. 

Albert was born in Taunton, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Lima) Laranjo. 

He served his country with the United States Air Force. Al worked as a supervisor at Northrop Grumman in Norwood MA for many years, until his retirement at age 55. Post retirement, he built a home in Glover VT, with the help of his sons, and lived there for several years before returning to Taunton MA. Al enjoyed mountain climbing and tackled many northeast mountains, as well as Mount Rainer in WA. He was an avid gardener, proudly supplying family and friends with a bountiful harvest every summer. Known as Grampy, Al doted on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved a good glass of Jack Daniels.

Besides his wife Lucille,he is survived by his sons: David, James, and Thomas and his wife Lisa, all of Taunton MA; Daughter Nancy and her husband Carl Woodworth of Mansfield, MA; Daughter Carol Mellon, of Lakeland FL; five grandchildren: Chyenne, Miranda, Jenna, Casey, and Meghan; seven great grandchildren: Adrian, Mackenzie, Jazlyn, Lylah, Kai, Roman, and Oaklyn; along with many nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late Frank Larango, Delfina Cunha, Mary Laranjo, Joseph Laranjo, Gerald Laranjo, and Edward Laranjo.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, OCTOBER 4, 2026 from 3 to 5pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton. Additional parking with handicap parking is locate on the North side of the funeral home.

Interment will be held in Monday, October 5, 2026 in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Relative and friends may meet at gate of cemetery at 1:45pm.
