Eduarda M. Soares

Eduarda M. Soares, age 77, of Taunton, passed away on October 12th, 2026, at Morton Hospital.

She was the former wife of the late Manuel M. Leite, Jr who passed in 2011.

She was born in São Miguel, Azores; she was the daughter of the late Jamie and Maria (Pereira) Soares.

Before retiring, Eduarda was employed by Rennie’s Curtain Factory as a seamstress.

She cherished spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends, who brought so much joy to her life. Eduarda was devoted to Revival Christian Church in Taunton, MA, where she found great comfort and joy in her faith and treasured the friendships that became like family. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading the Bible, gardening, cooking, and indulging in her favorite sweet treats. Eduarda will be remembered as a kind, loving, and caring woman with a heart of gold who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Eduarda is survived by her loving children, Michael J. Leite and his wife Ilda Leite; Sandra Nelson of Taunton, grandmother of Bryana Allain and husband Jarryd Allain; Kevin Leite and wife Kaitlynn Leite; Kyle Leite and wife Justice Leite; and great-grandmother to Jayvien Leite, Adrianna Allain, Julian Leite, Logan Allain, Dominic Leite, and Gabriella Leite. She is the sister of Jorge Soares, Frank Soares, Gilbert Soares, Manuela Santos, Isaura Medeiros, and Ana Ferreira. She was also the sister of late David and Jaime Soares.

Eduarda’s funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd, 2026 at 9am with a service to begin at 11am in the chapel of Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, MA.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
