Margarita Sanchez

Margarita Sanchez, age 73 of Taunton, passed away on September 5, 2026 at Morton Hospital.

Born in Manati, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Fulgencio Sanchez and Luz Melendez, and step-daughter of the late Ricardo Melendez-Class.

She enjoyed building puzzles, going to consignment stores and collecting recyclables. Margarita would help any person in need no matter how big or small.

Margarita is survived by her loving children, Juan Carlos Sanchez, Nellie Ortiz and a step-daughter Jenny Ortiz Dupont. Grandmother of Luis and Marcus Sanchez, sister of Carmen Galindez, Noemi Leon and Mary Luz Sanchez. She was also the sister of the late Norberto, Leoner, Jesus and Efrain Sanchez.

Margarita’s funeral will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 8:30am with a funeral service to begin at 10am in the chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.

Interment will follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
