Richard Blake Ferrill, age 72 of West Wareham, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Saint Anne’s Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Amy (Williams) Ferrill of Wareham, with whom he spent 45 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, MA Richard was the son of the late Maxwell and Dorothy (Blake) Ferrill.
Richard worked as an equipment engineer for 35 years before retiring, dedicating his career to intel equipment corporation
Richard’s life was rooted in his Christian faith, his love for his family, and his passion for motorcycles. He shared more than 45 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Amy, enjoying travels together and gathering memories along the way.
Being a grandfather brought Richard great joy. He cherished time with Noah, Conor, and Dinah, taking them to his favorite places and sharing the things he loved. He also treasured memories of growing up with his brothers and riding motorcycles with his mother—an early part of a passion that stayed with him throughout his life.
For Richard, any destination was a good reason to ride. Whether it was a quick trip to the store or a journey all the way to Florida, he was happiest making the trip on his motorcycle. His faith and love of riding came together through his involvement with the Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA), where he was a member and served as president. He was also a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders.
Richard’s thoughtfulness shone through in the little things. He always remembered birthdays and anniversaries, making sure the people he loved knew they were remembered. Those simple, faithful gestures, along with the time and memories he shared, will remain close to his family’s hearts.
In addition to his beloved wife, Amy, Richard leaves his son, James Ferrill and his wife, Lauren, of Wareham; his daughter, Jennifer Godsoe and her husband, Robert, of Norton; and his cherished grandchildren, Noah, Conor, and Dinah. He is also survived by his brothers, William Ferrill of Venice, Florida, and Pastor Forrest Ferrill of Sandwich, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Ferrill.
